July 2 3:30 pm: City Council MeetingJul 2 2008 - 3:30pm Jul 2 2008 - 7:00pm What: Saint Paul City Council Meeting Resolution for Precinct CaucusesMinnesota's major political parties hold precinct caucuses on Tuesday March 7 2006 starting at 7 PM. This is an opportunity for you to advocate for better voting methods by introducing the attached resolution. Doing so informs your neighbors about the possibility of improving our democracy through Instant Runoff Voting. It also helps move your party toward officially supporting this change. MCCL is just plain wrong about Instant Runoff VotingThe anti-abortion group, Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL) has circulated a questionnaire to candidates for local office this autumn. Two of the eleven questions are unrelated to pro-life issues. The last question begins with a one-paragraph diatribe against the advanced voting method known as Instant Runoff Voting. The paragraph closes with "For these reasons, MCCL opposes instant run-off voting, and then asks the candidate, "Do you oppose instant run-off voting?" Only a "yes" or "no" answer is allowed.
